Hi fella,s i have not collected german items since the late 1980`s but ....... i must say this site has got me " fired up " again found some of my old files a few months back , this photo shows the cufftitle NORD worn on the panzer jacket ,hope it is of interest , ( sorry its a poor scan ) best wishes ,Michael.

Hi......well, if you havnt collected Third Reich stuff since the 80s be prepared for a shock! and get your cheque book/credit card out! Some stuff, like SS in particular, has gone crazy price wise and the fakes are really good, although you will see the same old fakes that have been around since the 60s and 70s still turning up from time to time. Happy collecting anyway. Theres always plenty of guys ready to help in this forum and most of them can spot a fake at 100 paces on a rainy day!

Collecting Nazi Items

HI there ,
many thanks for the kind words , i do still visit , the UK arms fairs and when i have hunted round for items to my own collecting area ,i go round again looking at the nazi stuff ...and yes the majority is absolute $ %*T , i have seen collectors pay huge sums for repro items , once saw a guy lash out over £1200 for a pink piped ss crusher , and boy was it a bad `n, he had just decided he wanted one and that was it ,he quite freely said he had no idea how to tell an original one , just saw a picture in a book and away he went i have been visiting this site for about amonth now and have leaned much in this short time i have been delighted to see " the old hand " collectors genuinely try to help out the new boys ( ss barn find ) ,
i think every cent i spend now on books and museum trips now will save thousands in the future , thanks again ,Michael.
